Hebrews 9:11-14
11 But Christ came as the Head Religious Leader of the good things God promised. He made the way for man to go to God. He was a greater and more perfect tent. He was not made by human hands and was not a part of this earth. 12 Christ went into the Holiest Place of All one time for all people. He did not take the blood of goats and young cows to give to God as a gift in worship. He gave His own blood. By doing this, He bought us with His own blood and made us free from sin forever. 13 With the Old Way of Worship, the blood and ashes of animals could make men clean after they had sinned. 14 How much more the blood of Christ will do! He gave Himself as a perfect gift to God through the Spirit that lives forever. Now your heart can be free from the guilty feeling of doing work that is worth nothing. Now you can work for the living God.
1 Peter 1:17-23
17 The Father is the One Who judges you by what you do. He does not respect one person more than another. If you call Him Father, be sure you honor Him with love and fear all the days of your life here on earth. 18 You know you were not bought and made free from sin by paying gold or silver which comes to an end. And you know you were not saved from the punishment of sin by the way of life that you were given from your early fathers. That way of life was worth nothing. 19 The blood of Christ saved you. This blood is of great worth and no amount of money can buy it. Christ was given as a lamb without sin and without spot. 20 Long before the world was made, God chose Christ to be given to you in these last days. 21 Because of Christ, you have put your trust in God. He raised Christ from the dead and gave Him great honor. So now your faith and hope are in God. 22 You have made your souls pure by obeying the truth through the Holy Spirit. This has given you a true love for the Christians. Let it be a true love from the heart. 23 You have been given a new birth. It was from a seed that cannot die. This new life is from the Word of God which lives forever.
Ezekiel 45:18-20
18 ‘The Lord God says, “On the first day of the first month, you must take a young bull that is perfect and make the holy place clean. 19 The religious leader will take some of the blood from the sin gift and put it on the door pillars of the house, on the four corners of the altar, and on the pillars of the gate of the inner open space. 20 You must do the same on the seventh day of the month for every one who sins by mistake or because he does not know any better. In this way you will keep the Lord’s house holy.
Ezekiel 46:4-7
4 The burnt gift the ruler gives to the Lord on the Day of Rest will be six lambs that are perfect and a ram that is perfect. 5 The grain gift will be one-tenth part of a barrel of grain with the ram, and as much grain as he is able to give with the lambs. And he will give a large jar of oil with each tenth part of a barrel of grain. 6 On the day of the new moon he will give a young bull that is perfect, and six lambs and a ram that are perfect. 7 He will give a grain gift, one-tenth part of a barrel of grain with the bull, one-tenth part of a barrel of grain with the ram, and as much grain as he is able to give with the lambs. And he will give a large jar of oil with each tenth part of a barrel of grain.
Numbers 19:2-10
2 “This is the Law which the Lord has told you. Tell the people of Israel to bring you a young red cow that is perfect, one that has never pulled a load. 3 You will give it to Eleazar the religious leader. It will be brought away from the tents and killed in front of him. 4 Next Eleazar the religious leader will take some of its blood with his finger, and put some of it toward the front of the meeting tent seven times. 5 Then Eleazar will watch the young cow being burned. Its skin, its flesh, its blood and its waste will be burned. 6 The religious leader will take cedar wood and hyssop and red cloth, and put it on the burning cow. 7 Then the religious leader will wash his clothes and wash his body in water. After this the religious leader may come among the tents, but he will be unclean until evening. 8 The one who burns it will also wash his clothes and wash his body in water. And he will be unclean until evening. 9 Now a man who is clean will gather up the ashes of the young cow and put them in a clean place away from the tents. They will be kept for the people of Israel to mix with the water used to make things clean, to take away sin. 10 The one who gathers the ashes of the young cow must wash his clothes. He will be unclean until evening. This will be a Law forever to the people of Israel and to the stranger who lives among them.
Leviticus 6:2-7
2 “If a person is not faithful and sins against the Lord by lying to his neighbor about money given to him for safe-keeping, or by stealing, or by false ways, 3 or by finding what was lost and lying about it before God, if a man does any of the things that men sin by doing, 4 he will become guilty. Then he should return what he took by stealing, or what he got by false ways, or the money which was given to him for safe-keeping, or the lost thing which he found, 5 or anything that he lied about. He should pay for it in full, and add to it one-fifth part more. He should give it to whom it belongs on the day he gives his guilt gift. 6 Then he will bring to the religious leader his guilt gift to the Lord, a ram that is perfect from the flock, that you decide to be the right price for a guilt gift. 7 Before the Lord the religious leader will pay the price for him for whatever he did that made him guilty. And he will be forgiven.”
Leviticus 5:15-19
15 “If a person is not faithful and sins against the holy things of the Lord without meaning to, he should bring his guilt gift to the Lord. It should be a ram that is perfect from the flock, worth money the same as the weight of silver decided upon for the holy place. It is a guilt gift. 16 He should pay for his sin against the holy thing, and add one-fifth part to it, and give it to the religious leader. Then the religious leader will give for his sin the ram of the guilt gift as the price for his sin. And he will be forgiven. 17 “If a person sins by doing any of the things the Lord has told him not to do, even without meaning to, he is guilty and must pay for his sin. 18 He will bring to the religious leader a ram that is perfect from the flock, that is decided to be the right price for a guilt gift. So the religious leader will pay the price for him for the sin he had done without meaning to. And he will be forgiven. 19 It is a guilt gift. For sure he has sinned against the Lord.”
Leviticus 4:2-4
2 “Say to the people of Israel, ‘If a person sins without meaning to, by not obeying what the Lord has told us to do, these are the rules he must follow. 3 If the chosen religious leader sins and so brings guilt on the people, let him give to the Lord a bull that is perfect. It is a sin gift for the sin he has done. 4 He will bring the bull to the door of the meeting tent before the Lord. He will lay his hand on the head of the bull, and kill the bull before the Lord.
Numbers 28:3-8
3 And say to them, ‘This is the gift by fire which you must give to the Lord. Give two perfect male lambs one year old, as a burnt gift every day. 4 Give one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb in the evening. 5 And give a tenth part of a basket of fine flour for a grain gift, mixed with a fourth part of a jar of beaten oil. 6 It is a burnt gift which was set apart at Mount Sinai as a pleasing smell, a gift by fire always to the Lord. 7 Its drink gift will be a fourth part of a jar for each lamb. Pour out a drink gift of strong drink to the Lord in the holy place. 8 Give the other lamb in the evening. Like the grain gift of the morning, and like its drink gift, you will give it as a gift by fire. It is a pleasing smell to the Lord.
Exodus 29:1-37
“This is what you will do to set them apart to serve as religious leaders for Me. Take one young bull and two rams that are perfect. 2 Have bread without yeast, and bread mixed with oil, and hard bread made without yeast and spread with oil. Make them of fine grain flour. 3 Put them in one basket. Then bring them in the basket with the bull and the two rams. 4 Bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the meeting tent, and wash them with water. 5 Take the clothing and dress Aaron in the long coat, the clothing over the linen vest, the linen vest, and the breast-piece. Put on him the well-made belt of the linen vest. 6 Put the covering on his head, and the holy crown on the head covering. 7 Then take the oil for holy use and pour it on his head to set him apart for My work. 8 Bring his sons and dress them with long coats. 9 Put belts on Aaron and his sons. Tie head coverings on them. And they will be religious leaders by law for all time. So you will set apart Aaron and his sons for My work. 10 “Then bring the bull in front of the meeting tent. Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the bull. 11 Then kill the bull before the Lord at the door of the meeting tent. 12 Take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger. Then pour out all the blood at the base of the altar. 13 Take all the fat that covers the inside parts, and the part that is on the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar. 14 But the flesh of the bull, its skin, and its waste you will burn away from the tents. It is a sin gift. 15 “Then take one of the rams and have Aaron and his sons lay their hands on the head of the ram. 16 Kill the ram and take its blood and put it around the altar. 17 Cut the ram into pieces. Wash its inside parts and its legs. And put them with its pieces and its head. 18 Burn the whole ram on the altar for a burnt gift in worship to the Lord. It is a pleasing smell, a gift by fire to the Lord. 19 “Then take the other ram and have Aaron and his sons lay their hands on the ram’s head. 20 Kill the ram and put some of its blood on the bottom of Aaron’s right ear, on the bottom of his sons’ right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Put the rest of the blood around the altar. 21 Take some of the blood from the altar and some of the special oil. Put some on Aaron and his sons and their clothing. So Aaron and his clothing and his sons and their clothing will be set apart and made holy. 22 Take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat that covers the inside parts, the part that is on the liver, the two kidneys with their fat, and the fat that is on the right thigh. For it is a ram used to set apart those who work for Me. 23 And take one loaf of bread, and one loaf of bread mixed with oil, and one piece of hard bread from the basket of bread without yeast that is set before the Lord. 24 Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons. They will wave them for a wave gift before the Lord. 25 Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar for a burnt gift in worship. It is a pleasing smell before the Lord. It is a gift by fire to the Lord. 26 “Take the breast of Aaron’s ram used to set him apart. Wave it as a wave gift before the Lord. And it will be your share. 27 Then set apart the breast of the wave gift and the thigh that was waved and given from the ram used to set apart those who work for Me. One was for Aaron and one for his sons. 28 It will be for Aaron and his sons as their share forever from the people of Israel. For it is the religious leaders’ share to be given by the people of Israel from their peace gifts. It is their gift to the Lord. 29 “The holy clothing of Aaron will be for his sons after him. They will wear them when the oil for holy use is poured on them and they are set apart for My work. 30 The son who takes his place as religious leader will wear them seven days as he goes into the meeting tent to serve in the holy place. 31 “Take the ram used to set apart those who work for Me and boil its flesh in a holy place. 32 Aaron and his sons will eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the meeting tent. 33 They will eat those things that were used in worship when they were forgiven of their sin and when they were set apart for My work. But one who is not a religious leader may not eat them, because they are holy. 34 If any of the meat or bread used to set apart those who work for Me is left until morning, it must be burned. It must not be eaten, because it is holy. 35 “Do to Aaron and his sons all I have told you. For seven days you will set them apart for My work. 36 Give a bull each day for a sin gift, to take away sin. Make the altar clean by taking sin away from it and pour special oil on it to set it apart for Me. 37 For seven days give gifts upon the altar to take away sin and set it apart for Me. Then the altar will be most holy. And whatever touches the altar will be holy.
John 15:13
13 No one can have greater love than to give his life for his friends.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Do as God would do. Much-loved children want to do as their fathers do. 2 Live with love as Christ loved you. He gave Himself for us, a gift on the altar to God which was as a sweet smell to God.
Hebrews 9:27-28
27 It is in the plan that all men die once. After that, they will stand before God and be judged. 28 It is the same with Christ. He gave Himself once to take away the sins of many. When He comes the second time, He will not need to give Himself again for sin. He will save all those who are waiting for Him.
1 Corinthians 15:3-5
3 First of all, I taught you what I had received. It was this: Christ died for our sins as the Holy Writings said He would. 4 Christ was buried. He was raised from the dead three days later as the Holy Writings said He would. 5 Christ was seen by Peter. After that, the twelve followers saw Him.
Proverbs 21:3
3 To do what is right and good and fair is more pleasing to the Lord than gifts given on the altar in worship.
Romans 5:6-11
6 We were weak and could not help ourselves. Then Christ came at the right time and gave His life for all sinners. 7 No one is willing to die for another person, but for a good man someone might be willing to die. 8 But God showed His love to us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Now that we have been saved from the punishment of sin by the blood of Christ, He will save us from God’s anger also. 10 We hated God. But we were saved from the punishment of sin by the death of Christ. He has brought us back to God and we will be saved by His life. 11 Not only that, we give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have been brought back to God.
Titus 2:11-15
11 God’s free gift of being saved is being given to everyone. 12 We are taught to have nothing to do with that which is against God. We are to have nothing to do with the desires of this world. We are to be wise and to be right with God. We are to live God-like lives in this world. 13 We are to be looking for the great hope and the coming of our great God and the One Who saves, Christ Jesus. 14 He gave Himself for us. He did this by buying us with His blood and making us free from all sin. He gave Himself so His people could be clean and want to do good. 15 Teach all these things and give words of help. Show them if they are wrong. You have the right and the power to do this. Do not let anyone think little of you.
Matthew 20:17-19
17 As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He talked also to the twelve followers by the side of the road. He said, 18 “Listen! We are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the religious leaders and to the teachers of the Law. They will say that He must be put to death. 19 They will hand Him over to the people who do not know God. They will make fun of Him and will beat Him. They will nail Him to a cross. Three days later He will be raised to life.”
Philippians 2:5-11
5 Think as Christ Jesus thought. 6 Jesus has always been as God is. But He did not hold to His rights as God. 7 He put aside everything that belonged to Him and made Himself the same as a servant who is owned by someone. He became human by being born as a man. 8 After He became a man, He gave up His important place and obeyed by dying on a cross. 9 Because of this, God lifted Jesus high above everything else. He gave Him a name that is greater than any other name. 10 So when the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will bow down before Him. 11 And every tongue will say Jesus Christ is Lord. Everyone will give honor to God the Father.
